It is with great pleasure we announce that Mastermind Shipmanagement Ltd. have reached a shipping agreement with the Government of Mauritius, where part of the agreement is to run their inter-island cargo operations as from January 2019.

For this purpose MSM have purchased a dedicated vessel which will fly the Cyprus Flag, although it will be trading locally within the Mauritian waters.

Just like Cyprus, The Republic of Mauritius is an island nation who’s government puts shipping high on their agenda. The country includes Mauritius and Rodrigues islands together with another two smaller islands, altogether having a population of roughly 1.2 million.

Mr Jawa Lallchand, the Chairman of Mauritius Shipping Corporation, and his wife visited Cyprus in September where, among other, a meeting with the Shipping Deputy Minister, Mrs Natasa Pilides and a visit to Eurogate Container Terminal was also held in order to elaborate further on how our two nations could cooperate in the future in regards to shipping, economics and education. Mr Lallchand, who is also a Chairperson in the National Ocean Council of Ministry of Ocean Economy, Marine Resources, Fisheries, Shipping and Outer Islands, said he would would welcome any fruitful future cooperation with Cyprus shipping cluster.

The charter party agreement between MSM and MSCL was signed on the 10th September at a ceremony at Amathus Hotel, which was followed by a festive dinner to celebrate the happy occasion.
